Hi, any help would be very much appreciated.

I installed 10gR2 on Solaris 10 (X86 32 bit). when I used DBCA to create database, it showed that the OEM Database Control was not successfully installed.
the database was created successfully, i could access it through SQL*PlUS.

i tried to start the dbconsole, here are the msg:

$ emctl status dbconsole
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control Release 10.2.0.2.0
Copyright (c) 1996, 2005 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
http://sun10:1158/em/console/aboutApplication
EM Daemon is not running.

$ emctl start dbconsole

$ emctl stop dbconsole

$ emctl start dbconsole

one of the first places to check would be in any recent log files. A common culpret is incorrect environment settings.

Could be time zone problem.

try this
CMD>echo $TZ
GMT0

CMD>unset TZ

Then emctl start dbconsole
